Hi! I'm Rachel.
Affectionately called 'dubs' by my friends, I've had a keen interest in fitness and health for as long as I can remember.
Initially, this looked like competing in team sports like soccer, volleyball, and basketball, as well as individual sports like swimming during my formative years.
Following a lapse in good judgement (if we're honest, there have been a few) during my early university days, I left late nights and questionable music for early mornings, and equally questionable music in the form of gym classes, endurance running, endurance cycling, and, most recently, the all-consuming beast that is triathlon, so I am very familiar with overuse injuries, not listening to your body, and trying to justify muscle and joint pain as 'just a niggle'.
It has only been through setbacks, including long-term injury and a diagnosis of MS, that I have had to be more honest about what my body needs. This is where yoga slowly crept its way out of the background to holding a principal role in my daily life. Having practised since my early 20s, it has become clear that yoga is not just there to help be part of the cure to ailments, but as a way of preventing them in the first place, and finding a better balance in life.
I firmly believe that yoga benefits everybody and every body, despite limitations, barriers, and motivation, so long as it is approached with an open heart and mind.
Much love,
dubs

Yoga for Broken Bodies @ Breathing Space
Sundays 10-:30-11:30
*Starting January 12th*
New to yoga? Soft launching your 2025 fitness resolutions? Returning to fitness? Chronically inflexible triathlete? A fan of the slower Sunday Reset? A bit wobbly on your feet? Prefer to spend a little bit longer in asanas working on refining your alignment? I’ve got your back!
Having originally found yoga as a way to try and “cure” my injuries during my ultra running days, I now see it as so much more - a way to draw focus inwards and quieten the mind; a way to build flexibility; a way to build strength in the supporting muscles neglected by endurance training to prevent injury; and as a way to improve balance after my MS diagnosis.
You don’t have to be broken to join - yoga is for everybody and every body.

Sports Massage
Sports massage is a great way to take care of your body, whether you're training 15 hours a week for an endurance event, or just feeling general tightness from a stressful work environment. Sports massage has many benefits, including:
-
improved muscle recovery
-
injury prevention
-
improves flexibility
-
reduction in scar tissue and adhesions
-
decreased muscle tension and pain
-
increased circulation
-
improved athletic performance
In addition, it can help support relaxation and a more restorative sleep session, which is why I tend to offer sports massage appointments in the evenings, giving you time to fit in work/life/training during the day.
Available appointments are published at the start of the week over on instagram and Facebook, so feel free to follow to keep an eye on openings.
